Anyone know for sure what happened.

I just heard something terrible happened on North Main Street. I hope someone can tell me it isn't true. Does anyone know? The yellow house halfway up the hill-I don't want to mention any names.

Forums:

PTW you seem obsessed withg the "teens". Spending the night in packs is what today's teens and pre-teens do. All of those kids are great kids, good students, athletes and people. Some of them were at my house the night before. Erinn Vittum and Shannon Burns are best friends. Cade Vittum and Mike Burns are good friends. This was not a problem for anyone...the ex-Mrs. Vittum and her husband remain close friends and good co-parents, and the ex-Mrs. Vittum was also on good terms with Stacey Burns.

That P_T_W's last name is Weakness.

"...I'll hazard a guess on this one. I believe that the teens were there overnight because that's how teens are, especially on weekends.
It's a characteristic of their species..."

It is?

OK, I was a teen once, but six teens sounds like a bit much—and possible trouble from a parent.

With no insider-knowledge of the murder scene environment—nor any information put out by police—nor a hint of progress in its investigation, I'd like to put a handle on a possible "parental-rage" theory.

How about: "All of us are smarter than any one of us".

Our findings here could coalesce into a solution.

When I was a teen I routinely stayed with a friend at Brewster, and 6 or more of us stayed there and took over a dorm during break. No one's parents ended up getting eviscerated, to the best of my knowledge. I would hope if it was one of the guests, that they would be in a small cage by now?

I'm still dumbfounded that while no arrests have been made, and no one is apparently in custody, the law enforcement attitude is "Not to worry, isolated incident, you have nothing to worry about, Citizen".

This indicates that they would seem to know what happened, and consider the perpetrator to no longer be a threat, but why? Was there some seemingly un-related arrest or suicide attempt in some other state which wouldn't seem to have anything to do with anything, but which relates back to this case?

Wow, I'm sorry, that's really out-there conjecture, but really why would they be saying "don't worry, everything is fine", yet have no one in custody?

How about: "All of us are smarter than any one of us".

..."Not to worry, isolated incident, you have nothing to worry about, Citizen"...

Funny you use an oft-repeated phrase from Glenn Beck. (It regards "having a 9/10 attitude" AFTER 9/11).

In a dorm? You were there legally?

One would expect some security in a dorm with a dorm-master.

"...why would they be saying "don't worry, everything is fine", yet have no one in custody...?"

We don't know if the subject is in custody or not.

"...Was there some seemingly un-related arrest or suicide attempt in some other state which wouldn't seem to have anything to do with anything, but which relates back to this case?...This indicates that they would seem to know what happened, and consider the perpetrator to no longer be a threat, but why...?"

I wrote of that over a month ago.

"...Get a name..."

She has a name, and I respect her right to post anonymously; however, most posts to date have been unhelpful, as though she was intent on deflecting guilt in this case.

Six or more kids is routine at my house, as it was at Staceys. Its a GOOD thing...you know, kids hanging out and being supervised by responsible parents, not galavanting about town. They like to play Xbox, they like to watch movies, and in the morning you make a ton of pancakes. Its all good.

"Parental rage"? That is the most idiotic theory I have heard. I repeat....THESE ARE ALL GREAT KIDS. They are all deeply hurt and bewildered by what happended. Leave them alone.

Everyone hide, here comes the Dorm Dick.

Yeah, except in an entirely different context, and I'm not a complete magic-underpants-self-wearing-self-immolating-wackjob following the golden plates all the way from upstate NY to the barren wasteholy land of Salt Lake, but yeah, aside from that, I'm pretty much exactly Glenn Beck.

Yes, we were in the dorm legally. In fact, if you read up on me some more, you'll find that I am, in fact, security personified.

Ah, I would have thought that had someone been locked up, someone would have leaked it by now, if it wasn't in the public record anyway.

Also, I'm glad I'm not the only one asking about the other thing. Though if a suspect had been arrested or otherwise decommissioned in another jurisdiction, I imagine that would have been in the paper too.

"..."Parental rage"? That is the most idiotic theory I have heard..."

Count me among those who would want this case solved—even if "networking it" is required.

On those "magic-underpants".

Glenn Beck is Mormon, and is thus instructed to wear special undergarments.

Strangely, one of the better real-world explanations of this that I've heard (most people are understandably really sensitive about talking about this sort of thing), was from Ricky Schroeder (the Silver Spoons kid), on Howard Stern a couple of years back.

From what I gather it's a reminder of temptation and to strengthen the wearer in avoiding temptation by remembering their values.

On the other hand, it might be a function of "once the tempting party sees the tempted party's underwear, the temptation disappears as the tempting party retreats in gales of choking laughter". I'm not really sure which.

In either case, it was a cheap-shot at Beck on my part. There are way more pertinent things to make fun of him about than his religion.

"...Yeah, except in an entirely different context, and I'm not a complete magic-underpants-self-wearing-self-immolating-wackjob following the golden plates all the way from upstate NY to the barren wasteholy land of Salt Lake, but yeah, aside from that, I'm pretty much exactly Glenn Beck..."

What, exactly, is your definition of an ad hominem attack that we can't use on this forum?

There are NO rules on this Forum. For rules see New Site, they've got plenty.

This is way off topic, and if we want to discuss it further, I'd say we should start a new thread:

What, exactly, is your definition of an ad hominem attack that we can't use on this forum?

My comments certainly qualify, as it regards Mr Beck. As I've said, I'm not telling anyone what to post or not post, but it's not constructive to use language like "Party of Death" this and "Bill Clinton*" that in a discussion. All it does is telegraphs your un-willingness to accept opposing opinions. It says that you're so vehemently against anyone who's ever run as a Democrat, that you're not willing to even entertain the viewpoint. As Tis has said in other threads, you just end up re-hashing the exact same ground, because everything grinds to a halt.

That means that any "discussion" is moot. My flame against Beck is aimed at Beck, not an entire political party. There are many things I think the Republican party has stood for and should continue to stand for. There are also many worthless lunatics who are very vocal and driving the party away from people like me. For examples of this on the Democrat side, see Pelosi (LOVE her daughter though), Olberman (to a degree), etc.

So if you can't make the distinction between my personal attack against a TV show host, and the general dismissal of an entire political party, I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do for you.

Now, anything new happen in the case?

I'm thinking someone got interviewed by WPD, was instructed to keep quiet, hasn't been particularly quiet, and has a "non-judicial" stake in a blurred and unresolved outcome.

So, to answer your question,

"Not if we don't try to eke it out here".

BTW: Before the thread-hijack, we ended with:

"..."Parental rage"? That is the most idiotic theory I have heard..."

"...Count me among those who would want this case solved—even if only "networking" is used...All of us are smarter that any one of us..."

On May 10th, tis asked, "Anyone Know For Sure What Happened?" It's still a good question (unfortunately). A lot of time has passed since that Mother's Day morning when Wolfeboro resident Stacey Burns was murdered. Just about everything I know (or at least think I know) about the murder I learned within a few days of its happening. Since then authorities, who are under the charge of the New Hampshire State Attorney General's Office have told us absolutely nothing. We don't know what they've learned, we don't know who they have for suspects, and in fact, we don't know anything! We are getting a new Attorney General, we can only hope that he has more respect for the people that underwrite his paycheck and will release the information that's been withheld.
I've heard that the new New Hampshire State Attorney General is interested in establishing a cold case division. Apparently, New Hampshire has more than its fair share of unsolved murder cases. I would hope that I could take his recognition of these unsolved murders as being a problem, as a good sign. I know a lot of people in Wolfeboro and I know no one who doesn't think we've waited long enough for some action.
oc

that authorities sought the services of a professional magician. No one's asked as yet.
M. Heppelwhite

You are so right, old coot. I and all I know are disgusted that nothing has happened. And we are supposed to feel comfortable?????

Oh! Right! You want them to release a list of suspects? You MUST BE JOKING! Get a grip.

we want them to arrest and prosecute a suspect. Pronto.

"want" "want" "want"

How about "we want them to have a damn tight case before they even THINK of arresting and prosecuting anyone"

So, what if they DON'T have the case airtight yet? You WANT them to arrest someone just to make you feel good for a few minutes?

Do you think they are sitting in their offices with an airtight case and NOT arresting someone?

Grow up for god's sake.

before you were a gleam in your father's eye. Chances are also good that I know who your father is. I didn't say that the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office should make a premature arrest.
What I did say was that they have reported nothing and that they owe New Hampshire residents more information, reassurance or something more than the nothing that they've given us so far.
Don't you get that?
oc

The Union Leader, on their website, is advertising "an exclusive update in the Stacey Burns homicide probe" coming tomorrow.

Wonder what they know?

Hope it's something substantial!

No, I don't "get that", what you are asking is for them to either give us sensitive information prematurely, or to give us pablum. Maybe pablum give you reassurance.
They have said multiple times that the case is on-going, that they are looking at any and all aspects, and they don't believe the general public has anything to fear.

The New Hampshire Attorney General's office has given us nothing. That's my complaint. It still seems that you don't get it.
