Celtic Woman

[music | Yo-Yo Ma / Edgar Meyer Mark O'Connor - Misty Moonlight Waltz]

Celtic Woman? Really, you sure? I'll admit that this one was all for Natalie initially, but I'm really glad I went, it was fun, they are super talented, and the entire ensemble was really entertaining. And when it gets down to it, I just really love watching talented people do whatever it is they do. They'll start making it into my mix now I'm sure.

Dresden Dolls

[music | Regina Spektor - Bon Idee ]

This show was kind of iffy from the get go, since Dresden Dolls were one of two opening bands for Panic! at the Disco. The other was the Hush Sound, which was actually entertaining and the crowd seemed really into it, especially for the opener-to-the-opener. Combined with the fact that it was July 4th and at the most crowded place in the state that day (Hampton Beach).

Boston Symphony Pops ft. Aimee Mann

[music | The Smiths - Shakespeare's Sister]

This was really cool. The first half of the performance was the Pops doing pieces from "unconventional" composers, Bjork, Elvis Costello, and a John Williams piece.

After the intermission they had Aimee Mann with her band, backed by the Pops, which was really cool to hear. Keith Lockhart seemed really into it and it was even more impressive if you think about how they had to coordinate the arrangement with an existing tour schedule. Cool stuff.

NIN, Bauhaus, Peaches

[music | DJ?Acucrack - All Up in my Face ]

I made it back from Detroit with only a couple hours to spare to catch a nap and a shower before heading out for this one.

More PIG spiffy

[music | Throwing Muses - University ]

So last night I realized that Pig will be in Michigan 2 days after I leave to come back home for nine inch nails.

This is the Xrayspx Avoid Raymond Watts at all Costs Tour 2006.

RevCo, Ministry and, dammit, PIG!

Just got back from RevCo & Ministry show at the Palladium. RevCo sounded really really good, the sound was good, they played well, the new singer was good, and described by Luc Van Acker as "He's sexy, He's Canadian, He's Josh Bradford". The opening-opening band was Pitbull Daycare, and I think it was generally accepted that we could have done without them.

TKK + Cylab at Axis

[music | Bauhaus - She's in Parties]

LJ ate my entry from last Friday when everything was fresh. I remember being much less complementary of TKK, but I really was glad I went.

So last Friday we saw My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult and Cylab at Axis. I did this against the better judgment of Those Who Have Gone Before.
